The band “Wall of Zeros” (WOZ) is an alternative, pop rock rock band from Iowa. Formed in 2021 by friends who share a passion for music, the band consists of Tod Schulz (vocals, guitars), John Hanson (keyboards, backing vocals), Nick Dahl (bass), and James Nielsen (drums).
The friends who had played together in a band back in the 80s, lost touch with each other over the years. However, they never forgot the thrill of playing music together and the bond they had formed as a band.
Years later, realizing they still had a lot in common and that their love for music had never faded, with a few searches, phone calls and luck, the old friends found each other. With technology now allowing for remote musical collaboration, work on original material began again, and the newly formed WOZ started a new journey. The band WOZ is a symbol of friendship, and a testament to the power of music to bring people together.
The band’s name was inspired by the concept of zero. Zero, the number that represents nothing and everything, is used as a source of inspiration and creativity. A wall of zeros is a wall of nothing, a blank canvas with endless possibilities for creative expression.
